Frequently ASked Questions

Boondock Decks focuses on two core products: flat decks and subframes designed for overland and expedition builds. These systems are engineered to support a wide range of trucks and camper setups, from simple builds to fully custom overland rigs.
-
A flat deck replaces your factory truck bed with an open, configurable platform that gives you full control over your load area. A subframe is a secondary structural frame that mounts between your truck frame and whatever sits on top of it. It manages load distribution and allows the truck frame to flex naturally without transferring stress into your camper or deck.
-
For most overland and truck camper builds, yes. Truck frames are designed to flex off-road. Without a subframe, that movement transfers directly into a rigid camper or deck, leading to cracked floors, broken mounts, and long-term structural damage.
A subframe is the correct engineering solution for any build carrying significant weight or spending time off pavement. -
Boondock operates as a certified welding shop working with both aluminum and steel, which is rare in this space. Each system is developed through engineering and real-world application, not just fabrication.
Products are also designed to be shipped and installed locally, helping customers avoid the common challenge of moving their vehicle between multiple shops. -
Yes. Boondock systems are designed to be shipped to your location or directly to your builder.
This allows you to complete your build locally without having to transport your vehicle across multiple states or provinces, a common challenge in the overland industry.
